Bio
Elizabeth has spent most of her professional life as a researcher and assistant. Her passion for international affairs has given her the opportunity to be a researcher to senior corporate executives and traveled to Asia and Europe, including Shanghai, London, Paris and Madrid. Elizabeth has a B.A in Political Science with a concentration in women’s studies from Binghamton University, SUNY. She completed a study abroad program focused on globalization and the Caribbean. In addition, she spent a summer at the Universidad de Puerto Rico studying history and socio-economic issues. She also has a M.A. in Liberal Arts and studied Communications at Georgetown University.
Prior to going to Washington, DC for her graduate studies, she completed two successive summer internships where she conducted research on several issues, developed databases, supported media relations and philanthropic programs. Graduate studies and her interest in public policy led to positions in several organizations in Washington, DC.
These include the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) where she focused on research and immigration policy and the National Puerto Rican Coalition (NPRC) where she worked on fundraising for annual scholarships. At the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), she conducted research on Fortune 500 companies for the Corporate Governance Annual Report, and at Altria Corporate Services she served as a coordinator in Government Relations, building relationships with the Congressional Black and Hispanic Caucuses.
